Vera Assist privacy policy
Last updated 13 October 2026. Applies to the Vera Assist extension for Chrome, version 0.1.9 and later.
Vera Assist is the Chrome extension that lets Vera, the digital employee in VetAgent, work beside you on the vendor sites your practice already uses. It is for VetAgent customers, and it does nothing until you are signed in to VetAgent. This page says, from your side of the screen, what it looks at, what it sends, what it never does, and how to stop it.
The sites it works on
The extension can open on these sites only: Amazon and Amazon Business (amazon.com, www.amazon.com, business.amazon.com); Google's admin sites (admin.google.com, voice.google.com, console.cloud.google.com, calendar.google.com, groups.google.com, workspace.google.com); and the DEA registration renewal site (apps.deadiversion.usdoj.gov). It also talks to VetAgent at vet-agent.com. On every other site it has no access and does nothing.
What it reads
- Vera's panel opens only when you click the Vera icon in Chrome's toolbar, and only on one of the sites above.
- While the panel is open on a tab, the extension reads which page of the site you are on (for example, the cart or the checkout page) and whether the page is showing an error message.
- While Vera is working on a tab, it reads the parts of the page each step needs: a search result, a cart line, an order number, the text of a button before she clicks it. Each read is text only and at most 2,000 characters.
- While Vera is working on a tab, it notices that you clicked or typed on the page, so that your own hand pauses her at once. It notices that you did; it never records what you typed.
What it sends to VetAgent
- A record of each step Vera took or you took during a run: what was done, on which page, whether it worked, and the text she read back.
- When you press "Make the PO from this cart" on Amazon, the cart's lines (item, quantity and price), so VetAgent can create the purchase order.
- Your answers at a stop (yes or no), and the messages you type to Vera in the panel, which go to your conversation with Vera in VetAgent.
- Which site a run is on, and the extension's version number.
Everything goes to vet-agent.com over an encrypted connection, under your own VetAgent sign-in. The extension has no account and no password of its own: you sign in to VetAgent, and you talk to Vera.
What it never does
- It never reads what is in a password or one-time-code field, and never records it, whoever typed it.
- It never fills in or reads a field on the DEA renewal site's sign-in page. You sign in there yourself.
- It never deletes anything or adds a payment method on any of these sites.
- It never places an order, files a renewal or pays a fee without a person's yes. On the DEA renewal site, every submit, continue, next or pay button is a stop where Vera waits for you.
- It never records your browsing history, and never looks at any page outside the sites above.
- It never sends anything to any server other than VetAgent at vet-agent.com, and never takes a picture of your screen.
- It never sells what it reads, and never uses it for advertising.
One sign-in it can fill, only on your yes
If your practice keeps its Amazon sign-in in VetAgent's Credentials Vault, Vera can ask whether to sign you in to Amazon. Only if you answer yes, the extension passes that sign-in from VetAgent into Amazon's own sign-in form, once. It does not keep a copy, does not write it to any log, and does not put it in the conversation. If Chrome then offers to save the password, choose Never: the password belongs to the practice, not to your own Chrome profile.
What it keeps on your computer
Two identifiers only: one for the open panel and one for the run in progress. Chrome clears them when the browser closes. Nothing the extension reads is stored on your computer.
Where the data lives
In VetAgent, in your practice's own VetAgent account, where it is kept as your practice's record of each run, step by step. It is not sold and not shared with anyone outside VetAgent, except the service providers that run VetAgent for us (the cloud that hosts it, and the AI model that lets Vera read and answer), which handle it only to provide VetAgent to your practice. Our use of information received from the extension follows the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
How to stop it
Press Stop in Vera's panel to end her work on a tab at once; Pause and Take over hand the page back to you. To stop the extension altogether, remove it: in Chrome, go to chrome://extensions and click Remove on Vera Assist. Removing it stops all reading and sending from that moment. The record of runs already made stays in your practice's VetAgent account, as part of its record of work.
Who to write to
Write to Vera at vera@vet-agent.com with any question about this policy or about what the extension has recorded for your practice. If this policy changes, this page changes first, with a new date at the top.
